New Staff Changes at Salem UMC
After over 40 years, Jane Smith is retiring effective September 30. Jim and Jane have sold their house in Paddock Lake and will be moving to Burlington Wisconsin. Jane has been a blessing and joy to our congregation. She has graciously and without hesitation served our church for many years.
Rose Knigge has accepted this position. Rose was an Executive Assistant with 35 year of experience and retired from Abbott Laboratories in 2015. Rose has been in training this past week and will be taking over this position effective October 1. Welcome Rose!
Stan Bochat has been our accompanist for over 5 years. During this time, his family has grown and he would like to spend more time with his family at their Slades Corners church. PPRC was having issues filling the vacancy. After consideration, we decided to split this position into two positions; Accompanist and Praise Team Leader. If you have been in church, you will notice that we have a new accompanist, Ian Huddleston, who has been playing since August. Ian is a senior at Badger High School. He is an Honor Roll student and has participated in the Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA) State Solo and Ensemble. His future plans are to hopefully attend Parkside and pursue a degree in nursing. At the present time, Ian plans to continue as accompanist for our church while attending college. Welcome Ian!
Praise Team Leader
Christopher (CT) Hogan has responded to this calling as our new Praise Team Leader. CT has served at several different churches as a Worship Leader and has a strong back ground in contemporary worship. Currently, he is tending to some personal/family issues and we hope to have him back soon. For the time being, Marsha Isaacson and Kim Ouwerkerk will be filling in this position until CT returns, as we know how important this music is to the church.
Peace, Ragnar Ouwerkerk —PPRC Chair
