Caring Ministry Needs Addresses
We have a mission to send cards out to people on our prayer list. This mission is part of our caring for those in the community and is part of our hospitality. Most prayer concerns don’t include an address, so a card cannot be sent. Please put an address on your prayer concern so we can send a card. If you don’t want a card sent, please indicate that.
From the Finance Committee
All expenses to be reimbursed by the church need to be turned in to the church treasurer within 30 day of occurrence. Funds request forms can be found in the treasurer’s mailbox outside the workroom office or on the back counter of the workroom office.

Salem UMC has the privilege of serving at the Shalom Center Soup Kitchen on the fifth Thursday of a month. We make soup, enough sandwiches for everyone to take home after dinner and serve a hot meal provided by the Shalom Center to as many as 125 people or even more sometimes. The whole process takes about 2 1/2 hours some time between 2:00 and 5:30 p.m. (depending on which you choose – soup or sandwiches or serving). There is no cleanup. The center handles that. That is a very tiny gift of your time to provide so much for so many. We also donate money to the Soup Kitchen for milk – just mark your contribution “MILK” and drop it in the collection plate. If you would like to help make an “Impact on Your Community” sign up on the sheet found on the information board in the fellowship area – or call the church office at 1-262-843-2525 to get your name on the list.
Senior Dining Available
The Westosha Community Senior Center located on Hwy C east of Hwy 45, Bristol, offers the Senior Dining Program at noon each weekday for a confidential donation for anyone age 60 or better. The menu for the month will be posted on the bulletin board in the fellowship hall. Reservations are required by 10:30 a.m. 24 hours in advance. Suggested donation is $3. Call Ken @ 1-262-358-5554. There are 8 other locations in the Kenosha area offering this service including Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at The Sharing Center, 25700 Wilmot Rd. (Hwy C), in Trevor. For Sharing Center dining reservations, call 1-262-658-0237. Check the back of the menu or ask for a copy from Jane Smith.
